Producer Guild members in the Telugu film industry have announced that they will voluntarily withstand film shooting starting August 1. In a statement released on Tuesday night, Active Telugu Producers Guild (ATPG) based in Hyderabad said that they would refrain all the photos until they could sit and discuss ways to find solutions to their problems. The statement mentions income and costs as their concern.

In a statement distributed on the organization’s official letterhead, Guild talked about changes in the ‘revenue situation and increasing costs’ in the entertainment world since Pandemi Covid-19. “Post-Pandemic with the changing income situation and the increase in costs, it becomes important for producers to discuss all the problems we face as a film maker community,” the statement read.

The note added that given this changing condition, the producer had decided to stop film shooting until the solution could be found. “It is our responsibility to improve our ecosystem and ensure that we released our film in a healthy environment. In this case, all members of the Guild Producer have voluntarily decided to hold the shooting from August 1, 2022 to sit in the discussion until we find a resolution that can be applied, “the statement concluded.

Although it is not clear only which production houses and films will follow this decision but speculation is widespread that the upcoming actor films such as Mahesh Babu, Jr Ntr, and Prabha may face delay because of this.

The Telugu film industry has seen several post-Pandemic hits, especially RRR and Pushpa: The Rise, but producers are aware of the changes in income. Previously, a film producer had told PTI, “Theater income, except for blockbuster films such as RRR, KGF-2 and one or two, has fallen to 20%low. Under the impact of Covid. Everyone is now worried about the sustainability of the industry in Scenario like that. “
