The nostalgia gadgets: Devices that send us down the memory lane

Nostalgia hit hard when in May this year, Apple announced the iconic Apple iPod death. People post their old iPod images and remember how the device was their permanent equipment and status symbols when coming to music and gadget trends at that time. However, when fashion sees the resurrection at any time, some of these gadgets are also back in form, maybe with better and sophisticated technology.

Walkman

Walkman is a portable audio cassette recorder and player. Sony Walkman became very popular in the late 1970s. Sony launched Audio Walkman cassette players in 1979 and sold thousands of recording -based devices. When the old model was stopped, Sony re-signed Walkman and launched the model as the A100 Walkman, a series equipped with modern features such as Android and Wi-Fi compatibility and cancellation of digital noise. It also has a basic version of Walkman from RS 4,000 and rises to 25,000 RS. The Walkman design has been changed to match the modern style and somewhat on the iPod line. This device is also equipped with HD touch screen and high battery life.

Polaroids

Instant cameras are widely used and popular during the middle of the 20th century. They were developed by Polaroid Corporation first and then a number of other producers were followed to launch their products. In 2008, the camera was stopped and the production was closed. The following year, the company was acquired by PLR IP Holdings LLC which is now marketing Fuji Instax instant cameras among other portable products. Today, Fujifilm has launched various colors in the range of Mini Instax cameras. From the shape of the kitty to a square -shaped design and various neutral colors, the Instax camera is anger between young consumers and is valued between RS 3,000 and RS 14,000.

Blackberry

BlackBerry first launched its mobile device in 1999 as a two -way pager. Since then, the BlackBerry device has seen innovation, better design, peak and finally death. Blackberry phones like Pearl, Curve Bold and more sold in the second half of the 2000s. The QWERTY keypad, BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), is very popular among the two -a collection of companies and children. It is also a symbol of status until the iPhone takes tags. However, when innovating, brands often ask nostalgia to attract consumers. So, this year Unihertz launched the BlackBerry Style Unihertz Titan Slim which resembled the first in the design and had a QWERTY keypad, a step from the touch screen norm. However, cell phone reviews are not profitable and the model is not too exciting.

Typewriter

The mechanical device used to type has become excessive with the appearance of a laptop and computer with a keyboard that makes typing easier. However, the Nostalgia market has witnessed the rise of typewriters and a number of brands have sold a modern version of the typewriter on the e-commerce platform. This device also gives a free writing of disturbance. While people can also find retro typewriters that are sold through e-commerce platforms, brands like Casio, Lego ideas have also re-created typewriters for modern use.

Radio

Back on days, radio is a permanent equipment in almost all homes. It also acts as a cheaper and portable alternative for television and news and music sources. With the discovery of radio on mobile phones, smartphones and cheaper television, radio eventually becomes excessive. However, for those who grow by listening to the radio, Saregama Carvaan radio is launched and marketed and advertised, targeting an older generation in particular. Radio Saregama Carvaan has become very popular among those who crave a touch of nostalgia and come in several colors and with songs across languages. The device design has been stored according to the original radio design.

Cassette

Until the 1990s and somewhat early 2000s, audio cassettes were mostly used to record and listen to music globally. In 2003, cassette production had decreased and almost ended with a newer technological introduction. However, with other nostalgic gadgets, audio cassettes make comeback. In fact, in some parts of the world, cassettes never die. During Pandemi, some nostalgic trends see comeback, including Nostalgian TV shows on the OTT platform. Among them is the return of a cassette. Don Broco’s rock band also cash the popularity of CDs and cassettes by selling their cassettes. Cassettes of several other artists such as two Lipa and Lady Gaga are also sold widely. In 2021 witnessed the sales of cassettes peaked when people dropped nostalgia lane.
